Resident Affiliation - Department of O&G IMS & SUM Hospital Introduction - Broad ligament fibroid is a benign tumour originating from the smooth muscle of broad ligament, supporting the uterus. It presents with pelvic pain, abdominal swelling, menstrual irregularities, urinary frequency, constipation, often misdiagnosed as ovarian cyst, endometriosis and Other pelvic pathologies. Case report - A 45year old woman admitted to IMS & SUM Hospital with complain of mass per abdomen with abdominal discomfort which was gradual in onset and gradually progressed in size. P/A = Mass Was 32-34week size. The patient was treated with total abdominal hysterectomy and B/L salpingoopherectomy with tumor excision. Conclusion - Broad Ligament leiomyoma of huge size can displace the uterus and distort the anatomy. If allowed to reach an enormous size, it can present with pressure symptoms. It can progress to malignant transformation and degeneration. Extreme surgical expertise is required for successful outcome of such patients.
