A Case report of ruptured ovarian ectopic PRESENTER : Dr.C.Dedeepya ,3rd year post graduate in OBGYN at kakatiya medical college . GUIDE : Dr. Rajeshwari,Professor and HOD, Dept of Obstetrics & Gynecology,kakatiya medical college,Warangal. INTRODUCTION : Ovarian ectopic is a rare type of non-tubal ectopic pregnancy having an incidence of 0.5-3% in all ectopic pregnancies . Risk factors are PID,IUCD,ART,endometriosis,tubal surgery,tubal sterilization ,previous ectopic ,intrapelvic adhesions,prior induced abortions . AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: Aim is to provide comprehensive overview of ruptured ovarian ectopic pregnancy and ultimately improving the care provided to patient with this condition . CASE REPORT : A 28 year old G4P2L2A1 with 2 previous LSCS came with severe lower abdominal pain and bleeding per vaginum.Her LMP was 2 months ago.UPT was positive ,ultrasound revealed normal size uterus with no gestational sac , with adjacent echogenic mass in the ovary ,free fluid in pouch of Douglas suggestive of ovarian ectopic pregnancy . Emergency laparotomy with salpingo-oophorectomy was done. DISCUSSION :An ectopic pregnancy is characterized by implantation and development of embryo outside the uterine cavity.Pelvic adhesions and induced abortions are the main risk factors. CONCLUSUON : This case highlights the importance of raising awareness about ovarian ectopic pregnancy .The incidence of ovarian ectopic pregnancy is increasing due to rising use of IUCD ,ART,pelvic surgeries and previous induced abortions .
