Abstract :
Introduction: A 26-year-old Nulligravida presented with severe abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting, leading to emergency laparotomy and diagnosis of a granulosa cell tumor (GCT) with omental involvement. Aims & Objectives: This case report highlights the importance of prompt surgical intervention in suspected ovarian torsion or rupture and emphasizes the need for specialized care in managing GCTs, a rare and heterogeneous group of ovarian tumors. Material & Methods: The patient underwent emergency exploratory laparotomy, right salpingo-oophorectomy, and omental biopsy. Histopathological examination and immunohistochemical staining confirmed the diagnosis of GCT. The tumor was staged and managed according to standard protocols for ovarian cancer. Results: Intraoperative findings revealed a right ovarian mass with hemoperitoneum. Histopathological examination confirmed a GCT with omental involvement. The patient's postoperative course was uncomplicated, and she was referred to a cancer center for further management and specialized care. Conclusions: This case report underscores the importance of prompt surgical intervention in suspected ovarian torsion or rupture. Given the diagnosis of GCT, the patient required specialized care, including consideration of adjuvant chemotherapy and long-term follow-up, to optimize her outcomes.
