A rare case of huge ovarian tumor with Prolapse Presenting Author : Dr PAMIDIMUKKALA GNANA SAILAKSHMI (JR Resident ,OBGY) Guide: Dr . M.TRIPURA SUNDARI( MD, DGO ,Professor OF OBGY) INTRODUCTION: Borderline ovarian tumors represent about 10% of all epithelial ovarian cancers, but in contrast to epithelial ovarian cancers, they constitute a group of tumors with a much better prognosis. AIM: To describe a rare case of huge ovarian tumor with Prolapse METHODS: A 58 yr old postmenopausal women complaints of mass per abdomen since 8 months ,mass per vaginum since 3-4 months and increased frequency of micturition since 3 months .On Examination a midline swelling of size coresponds to 28 weeks of gravid uterus present ( more towards right side0 , firm to hard in consistency, smooth surface -- Regular borders, smooth surface.All 3 borders felt, lower border not felt, Side to side mobility present( minimal), NO tenderness , 3 rd degree UV prolapse with Grade 3 cystocoele ande Grade 1 rectocoele. RESULTS: CA 125- 120 IU/ml On USG abdomen- third degree UV descent and fibroid uterus with large ovarian cyst of size 19*13.9 cm from right ovary ?ovarian carcinoma Management: staging laparotomy + TAH + BSO + pelvic floor repair : Histopathological examination mucinous borderline cystadenoma of right ovary CONCLUSION: Diagnosis -- HISTOPATHOLOGICAL Differentiates between benign and malignant tumors. NO STROMAL INVOLVEMENT Mitotic figures should be less than 4 per 10 high power fields. Most common serous type, 10%-15% are mucinous .
