Abstract :
Introduction Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) is a common gynecological complaint with various underlying causes. This report explores a rare case of a sub type of non Hodgkin?s lymphoma presenting as AUB in a young, otherwise healthy woman. Aims & Objectives To present a unique case of abnormal uterine bleeding due to plasmablastic lymphoma , highlighting the importance of differential diagnosis and comprehensive evaluation to identify hematological malignancies in patients presenting with AUB. Material & Methods A 35-year-old woman presented with heavy menstrual bleeding and fatigue. Comprehensive clinical assessment included blood tests, imaging , and a bone marrow biopsy. Immunohistochemical analysis confirmed the diagnosis of plasmablastic neoplasm. Results The patient had severe anemia (hemoglobin 6.6 g/dL) and thrombocytopenia (platelet count 30,000 cells/mm"). Bone marrow biopsy confirmed Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, with immunohistochemistry guiding towards diagnosis of plasmablastic neoplasm . She began chemotherapy promptly. Conclusions This case underscores the rare presentation of plasmablastic neoplasm as AUB, emphasizing the necessity for a high index of suspicion and a multidisciplinary approach for timely diagnosis and management, ultimately improving patient outcomes.
