Abstract :
INTRODUCTION: Cerebral venous thrombosis(CVT) is a rare but a life threatening disease in pregnancy. It has a varied clinical presentation and pathogenesis. It most often involves the superior sagittal sinus buy may occur anywhere in cerebral venous circulation. Pregnancy and peurperium are in itself a high risk factor for its ocurrence. AIM:To assess the frequency of different clinical features, risk factors and prognostic outcome of patients diagnosed with CVT. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A hospital based observational study was conducted in the antenatal mothers in departmemnt of OG, in Theni Medical college, Tamilnadu. All cases of CVT were followed up amd managed and followed up till discharge from hospital and at 3 months post discharge. RESULTS:Out of 6000 deliveries in the study period, we found 4 cases of CVT in antenatal mothers and studied theConclusion. All patient we're APLA positive. Conclusion:In CVT if precise diagnosis is decisive timely and suitable therapy can be started which can reverse the disease process.
