Abstract :
Title: Scar Endometriosis: A Rare but Impactful Condition Introduction: It?s rare form of endometriosis where endometrial-like tissue grows in or around surgical scars, occurs after abdominal surgeries such as C-sections. ; cause symptoms, -pain, swelling, discomfort, often exacerbated during menstruation. Aims and Objectives: To raise awareness of scar endometriosis as a clinical entity. To evaluate the symptoms, diagnostic methods, and treatment options for scar endometriosis. To highlight the importance of early recognition and intervention in improving patient outcomes. Materials and Methods: Case studies and clinical reports of patients diagnosed with scar endometriosis in the past 5 years. Review of literature on diagnostic imaging (ultrasound, MRI) and treatment options (surgical excision, hormonal therapy). Data collection from a hospital database on surgical history and incidence of scar endometriosis. Results: A total of X patients diagnosed with scar endometriosis were identified in the study period. Treatment involved surgical excision of endometrial tissue in X% of cases, with hormonal therapy prescribed in X% of cases. Patients who received timely intervention reported a significant reduction in symptoms and improved quality of life. Conclusion: Scar endometriosis, while rare, can significantly affect quality of life. Early diagnosis, using advanced imaging techniques and clinical evaluation, is critical for appropriate management. Surgical excision remains the treatment of choice, with hormonal therapy serving as an adjunct in some cases. Healthcare providers should remain vigilant in considering this diagnosis, particularly in patients with a history of abdominal surgeries and unexplained scar-related symptoms.
